Screw Conveyor / Auger

A screw conveyor or auger conveyor is a device that uses a rotating helical screw blade, called a “flighting”, usually within a tube or trough, to transfer semi-solid materials, powder, granular and small lumpy materials such as slurry waste, wood chips, aggregates, cereal grains, animal feed, boiler ash, meat and bone meal, municipal solid waste, and many others. The rotating part of the conveyor is sometimes called simply an auger.

The auger conveyor is a very economical method to elevate and convey semi-solid materials by place the screw conveyor horizontally or at a slight incline. As the angle of inclination increases, the capacity of the auger rapidly decreases.

Single Shaft Screw Conveyor

KALX series single shaft screw conveyor is specially designed for transferring high density solids wastes – drill cuttings etc. collected from the solids control equipment to cuttings dryer. The unit is assembled with 12-inch-long segments, which allow the wearing segment to be replaced by the new one instead of the complete auger. The length and diameter is customizable according to the site layout.

Double Shaft Screw Conveyor

The structure of SW series double screw conveyor is similar with the single shaft screw conveyor, the main difference of the two is that the travel length of double screw conveyor is often shorter. There are two parallel screw shafts in the trough. During the operation, the two shafts rotates by the two engaged gears, making the material travel axially, and such the material being conveyed out.

Features

The double screw conveyor features in full closure while in operation. Comparing with other conveyance machine, it has small foot print, good seal performance, reliable and stable operation, convenient uploading and unloading, and easy maintenance.
